The Editor's Corner......
Karen 'Cycon' Dermody '63

Welcome to the Spring 2007 issue of Reflections. In this issue you will be able to read about the classes who are coming `home' for reunion/anniversary celebrations this July.

By my count there are 27 classes who are planning to meet during Reunion Weekend. Some have chosen to "pal -up", a term coined by Greg Davie and the class of `76 after the 2006 weekend was canceled. They will be holding their parties together and also spending some time with just their classmates. Backyard picnics, dinners and luncheons will be held in just about every venue in town.

Bob Smith ,`51, has sent along his "reflections" on what he remembers of Sidney during the time he was in school there. It is an interesting read. Pat McElligott's articles have become a staple of the newsletter and again he has some interesting information about Sidney's boxing history along with news of his own family.

The Wall of Fame will honor both the inductees from last year along with the 2007 candidates. The details about these talented individuals are here for you to read. I am so impressed by the graduates and faculty who have walked the halls of Sidney High.

The induction ceremony will take place at the All Class Reunion Luncheon on Sunday July 15th. The application for luncheon tickets is on page 18.

Alumni News is also a glimpse of what Sidney grads are doing with their lives. It is always fun to read what people are doing/ have done and reading about this group is no exception.

We have an article from Charles - "Doc" Brooks who has sent along his own list of distinguished alumni and described them with his usual flair. It is good to hear from him again.

Much of this issue is devoted to the plans for Reunion Weekend. As I mentioned the application for Luncheon tickets is here, the contact information for classes holding celebrations, and a schedule of events so you'll know what is happening at each and every moment.

Some breaking news is the change in venue of the popular SCSAA Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Instead of being held in November, it is being moved to Homecoming Weekend, September 21-22, 2007. In addition to the ceremony you will want to attend the Homecoming Football Game on Friday night. It will be a full weekend of events and not to be missed. There is an article describing the 2006 'induction ceremony which was most interesting and entertaining.

Remember that the most up to date information about any of the upcoming events can be found on our website

I hope to see you all in July and don't forget to send- your reunion pictures and stories to the editor for the- fall issue along with all your family news.
