Past

Joined class of '58 in 1949 for the 4th grade, moving from Norwich, NY. Graduated from Syracuse University in 1962 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education.

Enjoyed two trips to Europe in the Summer of 1958 and 1962 with the Christian Friendship Caravan out of Morris with Bill Lyon. Lived 5 years in Metropolitain New Jersey teach Junior High Music. Returned to Sidney in 1967. Spent the next 11 years raising a family and substitute teaching in the Sidney Music Department.

Entered Bendix, later to become Amphenol in 1978. Spent 20 years there, retiring in 1998 as a Senior Materials Analyst working out of the Production Control Department.

Advocations

Tri Town Theatre: Active with group for over 30 years. Been involved with over 20 productions. Favorite Roles include: Marion the Librarian "Music Man," Quiser "Steel Magnolias," Wicked Witch of the West " Wizard of oz."

Responsibilities have ranged from: Acting, Prompting, Stage Manager, Production Manager, held positions of both Treasurer and President of Board of Directors.

Music: have sung with Church Choirs for over 30 years. Since retirement, have been learning to play the pipe organ. Play the service at the First Congregational Church once a month.

Golf: Have played with the same women's league for over 20 years. Enjoy getting out to play whenever possible.

Sewing: Enjoy sewing for my granddaughter. Learning to smock.

Gardening: have a large perennial garden which is my "pride and joy."

 

Family: 3 grown children scattered along the East Coast. Two grandchildren with another due in August.

Like most retired folks, I look forward to getting together with my children and grandchildren. I anxiously awaited being a grandmother and then loving every minute of it.
